Description
Dear authors,
We are working with a model that has a charged BSM particle decaying into SM particles, with rest mass decay length of ~10 centimetres. After simulating the events from an LHE file with the Delphes-Pythia8 interface and using the no-pileup CMS card, in the Event Display track collection, we do not observe the track of this charged BSM particle. However, the track of the charged SM particle that it decays into, is observed with a displaced vertex. My understanding is that the charged BSM particle should give us a track as it can decay within the tracker layer
My question is, can the Delphes track algorithm give us the tracks of charged long-lived BSM particles? If yes, how can we access these track information?
