#1372 new Bug

Problem with N-subjettiness values

Reported by: andrea.diluca Owned by:

Description

I'm running ./DeplphesPythia8 with the attached card and .cmd file. I'm interested on the N-subjettiness variables. From the definitions (arXiv:1011.2268), I would expect the values of these variables to be lower than 1. But I obtain values up to 250. Do you know the values that Delphes returns are normalized as in the definition?
Thank you.

According to Eq.2.2 in https://arxiv.org/pdf/1011.2268.pdf it seems you can normalize easily the tau_i by the pT(jet)*(jet parameter R) to get the normalized definition. This said one is usually interested in ratios of tau_i/tau_j where the normalisation does not matter.

Thank you for your kind and fast answer. Reading some commented code, in which it is furnished the N-subjettiness definition reference, I supposed the output variables to be already normalized.
Thank you again.
