Problems with TauTagging

Description
I generated the following processes in Madgraph2.4.3
generate p p > Z QED=3, Z > ta+ ta-
add process p p > Z j QED=3, Z > ta+ ta-
add process p p > Z j j QED=3, Z > ta+ ta-
add process p p > Z QED=3, Z > l+ l-
add process p p > Z j QED=3, Z > l+ l-
add process p p > Z j j QED=3, Z > l+ l-
In the madgraph I used pythia 6 and delphes 3.4 for harmonization and detector simulation. In the final output I do not see any tau tagged jets. Parton level o/p and pythia output seem as expected (taus in final state at parton level and intermediate in pythia with hadrons in final state). I tried default cms and atlas cards in delphes 3.4 which otherwise work fine including for b-tagging.
Any hints on what might be going wrong with Tau tagging here?
I found somewhat relevant discussion here https://cp3.irmp.ucl.ac.be/projects/delphes/ticket/163. But I didn't see anything causing problems in the lhe reader code in my case.
