pileup for ATLAS

Description

Hi,
I am running Delphes 3.1.1 on .hep files generated from MadGraph. I find that when I run Delphes with the plain ATLAS card (delphes_card_ATLAS.tcl) I see a reasonable number of generator level and reconstructed jets. However when I use the card with pileup delphes_card_ATLAS_PileUp.tcl, but the mean number of pile-up events turned to 0, I get very few reconstructed jets, so that I am losing all signal events in a sample that is pure signal. I also ran a previous version of Delphes with the Snowmass pileup cards and had no issue there.

For the same .hep sample with the different cards I get:
delphes_card_ATLAS_140PileUp.tcl (mean pile-up = 0):
genJets = 280,231 entries
Jets = 3,636 entries

delphes_card_ATLAS.tcl:
genJets = 280,231 entries
Jets = 126,860 entries

I appreciate any help you can give.

Cheers,Jessica

Hi Jessica,

the bug you are mentioning has been corrected in the latest release 3.1.2.
Could you please try with that?

Thanks,
Michele

Hi,

On a similar note, the Snowmass pileup card do not seem to work with 3.1.2. The error message I get is: ERROR: can't access input list 'Calorimeter/eflowTowers' for different modules. I am using the same card as in http://arxiv.org/pdf/1308.1636v2.pdf where they use Delphes 3.0.9. Do you have any suggestions for how I can remedy this or what I am doing wrong?
