Description
Dear Delphes Team,
I am writing to enquire about an issue related to DeltaR between an electron and a muon in the Delphes simulation. I have generated the process pp->ZZ->2e2mu in Madgraph5 and passed it through the Delphes 3.5 after hadronization in Pythia8. I have chosen the Delphes card for CMS where the DeltaRMax=0.5 is used for both electron and muon. In my analysis, I select the events after choosing 2e and 2mu. When I checked the DeltaR between the leptons, I found substantial events (500 out of 16000) with DeltaR<0.5 between an electron and a muon. I also found a few events (roughly 5) with DeltaR<0.5 between two electrons and two muons. I am finding it difficult to understand why I am getting events below the chosen DeltaR cone I have used for Isolation criteria in the Delphes. Are the muons' PTs not taken into account while isolating an electron and vice versa? Would you please explain the algorithm used for the electron and muon isolation used in Delphes so that I can understand the issue I am facing?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Rafiqul Rahaman
