Issue with tau charge different from +/- 1 ...

Hello

I have a few naive queries regarding tau charges when it's not +/- 1, especially if its 0 or 2. I will list these questions below.

1. What is the physical significance of a tau having charge not equal to +/- 1? Is it possible that one of the charged tracks is outside the narrow cone?

2. Should one retain events where the tau charges are not +/- 1 or should these events be rejected?

3. Is the tau-tagging efficiency taking into account these outlier taus with charge 0, 2, etc?
