about Delphes ROOT reader

Description
Dear Sir,
Is the Delphes ROOT reader "DelphesROOT" reading the delphes level file, which is fast detector simulation level file, and then do the simulation again?
If yes, when I launch ./DelphesROOT cards/delphes_card_ATLAS.tcl output.root input.root, it shown no events record in output.root file.
If no, are there a way to read the pythia level and get level information then run delphes again?
