#1147 new Bug

MET distribution in version 3.4.x

Description

Hi,

I realized that starting from version 3.4.0 there might be a problem with the distribution of missing energy in Delphes.

As an input file I am using a .hep file create by MG+pythia6 for SM WZ production with leptonic decays. I expect to find two SFOS leptons lying within the Z mass window and to be able to reconstruct the W from the third lepton and missing energy.

Using Delphes version 3.1.x, 3.2.x or 3.3.x (I checked up to 3.3.3) and the default Delphes ATLAS card for each version I find the expected W peak in the m_T distribution of missing energy and the third lepton. However, in version 3.4.x the missing energy distribution is going completely wrong.

I will attach plots of m_T and MET comparing both versions.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Anke

Sorry for the very late reply, there has been an issue with the ticket notification system.
Have you tried processing events with the CMS card? Do you still find the discrepancy?
Also can, you try with a more recent version?
It could be that muons were missing in the calorimeter/tower collection.

If not solved can you attach a small event file so that I can have a look?

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
