22 Feb 2008:

  • Generated gridpacks for the VBF Higgs +2j. They are in the table below. I need to investigate why the gridpacks become larger for the Higgs masses generated later in time. Probably has to do with the fact that the previous runs are not completely removed before the next gridpack has been generated.
  • To get MatchChecker from the CVS:

  • Generated some events for H+(Z>l+l-), but did not include the tau. Better to create a new model in which the Higgs doesn't couple to the tau to save some time in generating events and gridpacks. Anyway, I did a check the events with the decay to electrons and muons with MatchChecker and they are fine. Including the decay to tau's won't make a difference for the matching.
  • We decided to use the pole mass for the top yukawa coupling. So the generated events for the tt~H+0,1j have to be redone. MatchChecker is now working on the old events to see if there is something wrong with the cuts. The change in yukawa coupling will only be an overall factor, so should not change the behaviour of the matching.
  • We are back to using the pythia without underlying event. Hence, we should remove the corresponding line in the pythia_card's.

21 Feb 2008: For the SM also add the line

  IMSS(22)=24

to the pythia card to not decay the Higgs. (This is automatically for non-SM's (like the heft model) in the MG/ME interface with Pythia)

15 Feb 2008: H+jj (VBF + H(V->jj) ) done no matching mh=120. ttH -> please try the matching with one extra parton. qq>H(V->leptons) matching with one extra jet. Next phase will be grid code generation for different Higgs masses.

7 Feb 2008: Generated parton level and pythia level event files for the Higgs of mass 200 GeV.

6 Feb 2008: Check with MatchChecker and our results look perfect. See the Report2.ps. Important:

  • Do not decay the Higgs with Pythia. There seems to be a bug somewhere that does not ignore the decay products of the Higgs. Forcing pythia not to decay the Higgs can be done by putting the width in the param_card to zero (and also commenting out the BR lines) and adding to the pythia_card :

  • One more check to do: Plot pt of the Higgs, only from events with exactly one (pythia) jet. This should be very similar to the total inclusive Higgs pt, because if the higgs has a high pt then it recoils most probably against 1 high pt jet (more jets is alpha_s suppressed).

4 Feb 2008: Generated 5 times 20k events for all multiplicities (higgs mass still 120 GeV) and put them on the mass storage.

24 Jan 2008: Removed photons from the Higgs->aa sample with rewrite.f with makefile to get all the flags right.

23 Jan 2008: Generated 10k events and used Pythia to shower. Not yet tested/validated. Cards used:
