Description of the model

This model is an extension of the SM, including additional interactions with additional fields so that monotop signatures at colliders are made possible. It follows the model constructed in the paper

arXiv:1106.6199: J. Andrea, B. Fuks and F. Maltoni, Monotops at the LHC.

Model files

  • monotops.fr: the main model file.
  • This model requires the Standard Model implementation of FeynRules.
  • MonoTops.nb: this is an example Mathematica notebook that loads the model, calculates the Feynman rules and extract the model files within the UFO format.

Matrix element generator files

Several coupling strength are set by hand to zero. We refer to arXiv:1106.6199 for more informatiom. Please note that due to unusual color structures appearing in this model, it only works with the limited set of matrix element generators shown below.

monotops_FA.tgzThe model files for FeynArts.
monotops_UFO.tgzThe model files in UFO format (e.g. for MadGraph 5).

LHC events and cross sections

The five benchmark scenarios are described in arXiv:1106.6199. We use the following cuts, with jet being any (parton-level) light or b jet:

  • deltaR(jet,jet) > 0.5
  • eta(jet) < 2.5
  • pt(jet) > 50 GeV

and consider hadronic monotop final state (three jets plus missing energy) at the LHC for a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV.

Signal samples Download Cross section (including top decay) [pb]
Scenario 1: 50.000 events S1LHC.lhe.tgz 0.362
Scenario 2: 50.000 events S2LHC.lhe.tgz 0.616
Scenario 3: 50.000 events S3LHC.lhe.tgz 0.043
Scenario 4: 50.000 events S4LHC.lhe.tgz 3.854
Scenario 5: 50.000 events S5LHC.lhe.tgz 1.031e-06

Tevatron events and cross sections

The five benchmark scenarios are described in arXiv:1106.6199. We use the following cuts, with jet being any (parton-level) light or b jet:

  • deltaR(jet,jet) > 0.5
  • eta(jet) < 2.5
  • pt(jet) > 30 GeV

and consider hadronic monotop final state (three jets plus missing energy) at the Tevatron for a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV.

Scenario 1: 50.000 events S1TeV.lhe.tgz 0.021
Scenario 2: 50.000 events S2TeV.lhe.tgz 0.233
Scenario 3: 50.000 events S3TeV.lhe.tgz 0.002
