Research statement
I am interested in the physics of the early universe and how to describe it in QFT. The projects I stay in UCL this year will be focusing on 1) constraining the inflaton couplings from the CMB within selected suitable benchmark scenarios, and 2) extending the calculation of the thermal damping rates by considering the effect of the expansion of the universe as well as the direct coupling of scalar to fermions and gauge bosons.

Scalar Fields in the Early Universe
Mubarak Abdallah, Marco Drewes, Sebastian Zell

We study the nonequilibrium dynamics of scalar fields in the early universe in the framework of the Schwinger-Keldysh formalism. We are interested in several applications, including inflation, reheating, Dark Matter production and the fate of the Higgs field in the early universe.
