Twisted 2HDM Phenomenology

Signal with %$h^0\rightarrow A^0 A^0$%

Signal with %$H^0\rightarrow Z A^0$%

Process %$gg\rightarrow h^0\rightarrow H^0 H^0 \rightarrow Z A^0 Z A^0 \rightarrow l^+ l^- l^+ l^- bbbb$%

Signal (BP1, only eta<2.5 for b's), xsec before Z decays 463fb (already rescaled to best NLO with 1121/388!!!)

Backgrounds:

Hopeless because too low pt ? Discuss how to group b jets, give xsec of main bkgrd ZZbb (0.3 fb with loose cuts on b's)

Plots : delta R (also BP2), pT 3rd and 4th jets (also for BP2), ptb34_zaza_bp1_bp2.eps

Signal (BP2, only eta<2.5 for b's), xsec before Z decays 314fb (already rescaled to best NLO with 802/120!!!)

If additional cuts on b's (pt>15,eta<2.5 and dR>0.4), cross section is 157,7fb.

Backgrounds (two b-tags)

  • ZZbbbb to come euhhhh... 40ab!
  • ZZbbjj to come, not feasable with ME... BUT: ZZbbj is 30fb (pt>15,eta<2.5 and dR>0.4 on all jets), so ZZbbjj is probably negligible.

Plots: mH0's and mh0 (from Arnaud's thesis)

Process %$gg\rightarrow bb H^0\rightarrow bb Z A^0 \rightarrow l^+ l^-  bbbb$%

Signal (BP3, no pT, eta cuts on b's, pt>10, eta<2.5 and dR>0.4 for leptons)

Backgrounds (one b-tag)

  • Zj to come -> hopeless
  • Zb
  • Zbb (where b's are closed together)

Plot: delta R (to show that b's are colinear)

Process %$gg\rightarrow bb H^0\rightarrow bb Z A^0 \rightarrow l^+ l^-  \tau\tau bb$% with taus in leptons

Signal (BP3, pT cuts on all leptons pt>20, eta<2.5)

Backgrounds (one inclusive sample), same cuts as signal, l+l- forced from Z

  • l+l- tau+ tau-
  • l+l- l+l-
Plots: inv mass and delta R for leptons with
m_inv-mZ bigger, mH

Signal with %$H^\pm\rightarrow W^\pm A^0$%

Process %$gg\rightarrow h^0\rightarrow H^+ H^- \rightarrow W^+ A^0 W^- A^0 \rightarrow l^+ \nu_l jj \tau^+\tau^-bb$%

Signal (BP1, WARNING no cuts at all), xsec before W decays 304fb (already rescaled to best NLO with 1121/388!!!)

Background

  • ttl+l- (104fb with only a cut of 5 GeV for m_ll, to avoid gamma divergence)
  • LHE events, Root events ttl+l- (l incl tau), with t going to (w+>jj)b and tx going to (w->l-vl)b (l=e,mu), tau's decayed to e, mu (50k, 10.5fb)
  • LHE events, Root events ttl+l- (l incl tau), with t going to (w+>lvl)b (l=e,mu) and tx going to (w->jj)b, tau's decayed to e, mu (50k,10.5fb)
  • wl+l-jj, l includes tau's, (pt>20 for jets, >10 for leptons, eta jets & leptons < 2.5, dR for jj, jl and ll >0.4), w is going to e or mu
  • LHE events, Root events for l=tau, with tau decay into leptons (100k, xsec=8.2fb)
  • LHE events, Root events for l=e,mu (100k, xsec=127fb)
  • Same as previous, but w/o pt>10 and mll>5 instead (only e and mu) : LHE events, Root events for l=e,mu (20k, xsec=157fb)

Process %$pp\rightarrow tH^\pm (b) \rightarrow W^- b W^+ A^0 (b)  \rightarrow W^+ W^- b\tau^+\tau^-(b) \rightarrow jj l^\pm \nu_l \tau^+\tau^-b(b)$%

Signal (BP3, no cut at all), xsec total before w and tau decay 641 fb (no cuts on w decay products)

Background

Regarding the presence of at least on taggable b-jet, main bkg is ttl+l-, see WAWA

Process %$gg\rightarrow tt \rightarrow W^\pm H^\mp bb \rightarrow W^+ W^- A^0 bb \rightarrow W^+ W^- \tau\tau bb \rightarrow jj l^\pm \nu_l \tau\tau bb$%

Signal (BP1, no cut at all), xsec total before w+ and tau's decay 631 fb

Background is ttll, see WAWA

Signal (BP2, pT cut at 15GeV and eta cut at 2.5 for b's), xsec total before w+ decay 153 fb (no cuts on w decay products)

Signal (BP3, pT cut at 15GeV and eta cut at 2.5 for b's), xsec total before w+ decay 2504 fb (no cuts on w decay products)
