v14 v15 1 1 == !MadAnalysis 5 - A package for event file analysis == 2 2 3 !MadAnalysis is a Python/C++ software allowing to perform a complete physical analysis from event files written in the Les Houches Event (LHE) format. Possibilities to apply cuts on both simple kinematical variables or more complex user-defined observable is included, as well as the option to investigate the particle content of an event sample (e.g., lepton multiplicity, etc...). The output of the program consists in histograms and efficiency tables related to the defined analysis under HTML or LaTeX files.3 !MadAnalysis is a new framework for phenomenological investigations at particle colliders. Based on a C++ kernel, this program allows to efficiently perform, in a straightforward and user-friendly fashion, sophisticated physics analyses of event files such as those generated a large class of Monte Carlo event generators. !MadAnalysis 5 comes with two modes of running. The first one, easier to handle, uses the strengths of a powerful Python interface in order to implement the analysis by the mean of a set of intuitive commands. The second one requires to implement the analysis in the C++ programming language, directly within the core of the analysis framework.
