PhD position in NA62 experiment
Announced: 31st January 2017
Applications are now closed
The Center for Particle Physics and Phenomenology (CP3) at “Université Catholique de Louvain” invites applications for a doctoral position in
Data Analysis and GTK operation for NA62 experiment
The appointment is a full-time position for duration of 4 years and is available immediately
Candidates should have a Master Degree in experimental particle physics. She/he will be engaged in an international team involved both in the operation of the NA62 experiment at CERN and in the analysis of rare kaon decays with the data collected. More concretely, the candidate will participate actively in:
- The operation and data analysis of the GTK detector
- Lepton Flavor Violation and Lepton Number Violation in Kaon Decays
- The shifts for the NA62 detector operation
Research activity in the Center is equally strong in theoretical and experimental physics and collaborations between them are highly encouraged. Besides NA62, the Center is involved in CMS experiment, in the development of Monte Carlo generators and in the phenomenology of fundamental interactions. A strong computing team, hosting a Tier-2 installation, is also in place. The selected candidate is expected to be based in Belgium with possibility of extended stays at CERN.
Application, including a curriculum vitae, diplomas, marks obtained during university studies, and one recommendation letter should be submitted through the CP3 Jobs web site.
